Sen. Collins 'Getting Ready To Run' Again In 2020

Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins says she's "getting ready to run" for re-election, but reiterated that she won't make a decision until the end of the year.

Collins is a moderate Republican who has been targeted by Democrats and liberal groups for her role in the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. A crowd-funded effort to boost her opponent in 2020 has received more than $3.7 million.

Collins was elected to the Senate in 1996 and hasn't made a firm commitment about whether she's running. She appeared on NBC's Meet The Press on Sunday morning and said it's "too early to make that decision," though she acknowledged she's "getting prepared" for election season.

Collins also told Meet The Press host Chuck Todd she thinks Republicans and Democrats are both at fault for the government shutdown.
