Sex Ed

It's the conversation many parents, and their children, dread having: reproduction and sexual education. Learn ways to broach the topic of sex and talk about it.

How did your parents explain how you got here on earth? Did the stork bring you via airmail? Did the conversation start with the "birds and the bees?" Or did your parents just leave it up to the health teacher at school? Sex education has come a long way over the years, and is still evolving. And today, it involves a lot more than just the facts of life. But also, we'll discuss broader issues such as safety and sexual stereotyping. How to help kids navigate a culture that can celebrate unhealthy relationships and the objectification women and girls. Experts say the conversations should happen early and often during childhood.

Host Jennifer Rooks speaks with:

Jennifer Wiessner, LCSW, AASECT certified Sex Therapist
