Maine officials are looking for public comments on a plan about how the state manages its outdoor recreation areas.
The Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands says residents are able to comment on a draft of the 2020-2025 Maine State Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan . The plan is important because it qualifies the state to receive federal dollars from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
The state says the plan is designed to identify Maine's demand for and supply of outdoor recreation areas. It also suggests priorities for the use of Land and Water Conservation Fund spending in the state.
Maine is taking comments on the proposal until Nov. 22.
