Woman Charged After Rollover on I-95 in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Maine — A Richmond woman is facing charges after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident she was involved in on Interstate 95 in Augusta.

State police say 29-year-old Adam Brezynka of Winslow was driving a pickup truck south just after noon Sunday when he attempted to pass a Jeep.

Police say the Jeep drifted into Breznyka's lane, forcing him to swerve to avoid colliding. He lost control and rolled several times.

Witnesses told police the Jeep stopped immediately, but then left the scene. A witness followed the Jeep, got the license plate number and told police.

Officers tracked down 31-year-old Jennifer Beckwith-Pierce and charged her with leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury.

Police say because he was wearing his seat belt, Brezynka suffered only minor injuries.
