Woman Who Stole From Boss Gets 3 Years in Prison

PORTLAND, Maine — A Maine woman accused of stealing more than $70,000 from her boss after he ended their affair has been sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to repay the money.

The Press Herald reports that 56-year-old Sharon Conley of Peaks Island in Portland was sentenced Tuesday in federal court. She pleaded guilty to fraud and theft charges in April.

Court records say Conley did bookkeeping and various other jobs for Paul Bridges and his wife. Bridges' business, Call Paul, does home repairs and offers car rides and other services to island residents.

Prosecutors said Conley charged more than $70,000 to credit cards and various other personal and business accounts belonging to Bridges and his wife, after Bridges ended the affair.
