Living with a disability comes with a variety of challenges—and for women and girls with disabilities, those challenges are amplified. Problems include violence, sexual abuse, discrimination and institutionalization. We hear from featured speakers from this year’s Justice for Women Lecture series about how this issue occurs worldwide. And we talk with women in Maine who have disabilities to learn what they face—and how they have overcome obstacles.
This show will include an ASL interpreter and will be broadcast via Maine Public’s YouTube channel.
