The coach who brought University of Maine to its first Football Championship Subdivision national semifinal appearance is headed to Minnesota.
Joe Harasymiak, whose team compiled a 10-4 record, will become the defensive backs coach at the University of Minnesota in the Big Ten conference.
UMaine director of athletics Ken Ralph tells the Bangor Daily News he knew his 32-year-old coach was going to "be in demand."
Harasymiak who the lowest-paid head coach in the Colonial Athletic Association, directed the Black Bears to a 20-15 record, including a 15-9 CAA mark, in his three seasons in Orono.
