More students in Maine are graduating from high school than ever before — nearly 87 percent last year. And most enroll in college. Yet for many students, particularly those from small, rural schools, staying in college can be a challenge. A new program in Aroostook County is looking into why some rural students may struggle in college and trying to find ways to keep them in school.

People, potatoes, paper and ploys. US Highway One is the main artery of the Eastern United States. It links thirteen states, their cities, towns and people.

An Aroostook County potato processing company broke ground Wednesday on what company officials say is an $8.5 million expansion.

The expansion of the Naturally Potatoes processing plant in Mars Hill will double the facility's production and storage.

"It's a nice combination of things. It's good for the potato industry, good for the economy of Northern Maine, and the state of Maine," says Naturally Potatoes CEO William Haggett.
