SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine - Gov. Paul LePage has awarded eight Maine companies for their commitment to their employees and communities.
The Republican governor handed out the 24th annual Governor's Award for Business Excellence to each of the winners on Friday at Southern Maine Community College in South Portland.
Three award recipients are in Portland: Kepware Technologies, Winxnet and Hall Internet Marketing.
Others are Priority Real Estate in Topsham; Huhtamaki in Waterville; GAC Chemical in Searsport; Fluid Imaging Technologies in Scarborough; and Haven's Candies in Westbrook.
LePage says the companies represent the "best of the best'' in Maine.
Last year's winners included TD Bank North in Portland, Howie's Welding and Fabrication, Inc. in Jay and Lapointe Lumber Company in Augusta.
