Maine Man Charged With Raping Teen He Met Online in Delaware

GEORGETOWN, Del. - Georgetown Police say a man from Maine has been charged with raping a 14-year-old runaway he met online.

Thirty-four-year-old James I. Allen of Dresden, Maine, was arrested Sunday and charged with three counts of second-degree rape, two counts of fourth-degree rape and sexual solicitation of a child. He is being held on $230,000 cash bail.

Police spokesman Lt. Lawrence A. Grose tells The News Journal of Wilmington say law enforcers went to the Comfort Inn after learning that the missing girl might be there. He says officers found Allen and the girl in a room.

Grose says the girl told detectives she met Allen through Facebook; they continued communicating online and arranged to meet at the motel.

Grose says she and Allen engaged in sex acts in the room.
