Cops: Former Student With Gun Impersonated Trooper at School

READFIELD, Maine - State police are charging a former student of a Maine high school with impersonating a police officer for showing a badge and gun while talking his way into a post-game meeting of the school's boy's lacrosse team.

Police say 19-year-old Caleb Jackson of Wayne was charged Tuesday with impersonating a public servant, carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a gun on school property. He was taken to Kennebec County Jail and is now free on bail. Police say Jackson convinced Maranacook High School's athletic director and lacrosse coach that he was a state trooper. He said he wanted to talk to the team about sexting.

Police say Jackson's gun remained in a holster on his belt, hidden by a coat.

It was unclear on Wednesday if Jackson had an attorney.
