Tipsters in Maine Man's Killing Sue for Withheld Reward Cash

HARRISBURG, Pa. - A couple from Pennsylvania is suing the family of a Maine murder victim because the victim's family has refused to give them a $52,000 reward check.

Twenty-eight-year-old Timothy Davison of Poland was shot to death while driving on Interstate 81 just north of the border of Maryland and Pennsylvania in January 2014. Davison's family offered the $52,000 reward for information leading police to the killer.

Jamie and Courtney Breese provided a tip that led to a first-degree murder charge against John Wayne Strawser of West Virginia. Police say Strawser shot Davison in a case of mistaken identity.

The Portland Press Herald reports that Davison's mother said the couple waited too long and only went to police after they had charged Strawser with killing his girlfriend 16 months later.
