PORTLAND, Maine - Authorities say a 24-year-old inmate has died at the Cumberland County Jail in Portland.
Capt. Steve Butts Jr. says officers had attempted to revive Nikco Bashari Walton just before 7 a.m. Monday, but he was unresponsive.
The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office and Portland police are investigating Walton's death.
Walton had been jailed on a drug charge. Additional information on his death wasn't immediately available.
