CHARLESTON, Maine (AP) _ The East Ridge Stable is hosting equine royalty this weekend.
Herrmann's Royal Lipizzan Stallions are performing at a fundraiser that's being hosted this weekend at the stables in Charleston.
Athletic and sleek, the Lipizzan breed is a rarity that originated in the 16th Century for use of Austria's royal Hapsburg family.
Proceeds of the fundraiser are going to the Lawrence Farm Equine Shelter in Athens, which takes in abused and neglected horses.
