PORTLAND, Maine - Maine's Independent Sen. Angus King has never taken a photography class, but his eye for detail is winning followers on Instagram.
His photos offer a personal look at his dual existence in busy Washington and rural Maine.
He says the "whole idea is to convey the world as I see it.''
Photos range from a behind-the-scenes Capitol Hill moments like a state dinner in honor of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Maine ski weekends with his family.
Islandport Press is going to publish some his best photos and essays for a coffee table book this summer with proceeds going to the Good Shepherd Food Bank.
The photography editor for Maine's Downeast magazine says King is "trying to tell a story'' with his photos and "that's what great photographers do.''
