Highland Lake Beach In Bridgton Closed Again Due To E.Coli Contamination

Aug 10, 2018

A third Maine beach has closed this week due to E. coli contamination. Swimming has been banned at Highland Lake Beach in Bridgton after testing revealed bacteria levels in the water that are above the acceptable limit.

It's the second time this summer Highland Lake Beach has closed due to E. coli.  Experts say the bacteria can flourish when large numbers of people congregate in warm water.

A notice on the town's website says new testing will be conducted on Monday.
