On May 19, the Portland Press Herald reported that officials in the city were investigating two employees who were caught on tape throwing trash and recyclables into the same truck during a morning trash pick-up.
The story raised the ire of many Portland residents, along with questions about how common the co-mingling of trash and recyclables is in the city and statewide.
Press Herald staff writer Peter McGuire reported the original article and has been following the investigation. He joined Nora Flaherty on the line earlier today and told her the story.
