The 19th annual Healthy Kids Strawberry Shortcake Shuffle 5K and 3K Fitness Walk will take place at the Great Salt Bay Community School in Damariscotta on Saturday, July 6th. An out and back course is well marked, and the race is professionally timed. The age categories for the 5K have been expanded to include children ages 1-5, 6-9, 10-13, 14-16 and 17-19 since so many young people are running the event. Adult age categories are 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, etc. All registered runners and walkers will receive a custom pair of sunglasses, runner’s water bottle and lip balm with sunscreen. As always, prizes will be awarded and home-made strawberry shortcake will be served! All proceeds benefit Healthy Kids’ child abuse prevention programs.
