Maine Audubon 'Stream Explorers' Program Workshop

Maine Audubon 'Stream Explorers' Program Workshop
Join Maine Audubon and its Stream Explorers program in ringing in fall with a chance to meet the critters of Trout Brook!
Stream Explorers (https://maineaudubon.org/projects/stream-explorers/) is a volunteer program that trains volunteers to test the water quality and stream health of Maine's freshwaters. Be it a brook in your backyard or a stream in your city, you can learn to catch, sort and identify the benthic macroinvertebrates living in these places! The assortment of critters you find informs you, Maine Audubon and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection on the health of our waters. The efforts of this program's volunteers help DEP cover more ground than their team of Biological Monitors can do alone. Volunteers are essential to the long-term documentation of Maine stream health. Join volunteers, new and experienced, and DEP staff as we walk through the Stream Explorers methodology. If you are new to the program, please review the orientation videos linked on the website provided in this description. Upon registering, you will be prompted to choose from 1 of 3 event sessions. The event is free, and any prompt on the registration page for credit card information will disappear once you select the date, your chosen attendance time and the number in your party. We hope to see you there!
