The Future of Maine’s Fisheries: Giving Fishermen a Voice

The Future of Maine’s Fisheries: Giving Fishermen a Voice

Ben Martens is the executive director of Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association, an industry-based nonprofit that identifies and fosters ways to restore fisheries in the Gulf of Maine while sustaining Maine’s fishing communities for future generations. His lecture, titled “The Future of Maine’s Fisheries: Giving Fishermen a Voice,” will emphasize the work Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association is doing to amplify and connect the perspective of those who live and work on the water to marine scientists, policy makers, and environmental conservation initiatives in these unprecedented times of change in the Gulf of Maine.

This free lecture is presented in conjunction with our current exhibit, SeaChange: Darkness and Light in the Gulf of Maine, presented in partnership with Gulf of Maine EcoArts. Preregistration is required!
