St. Ann's Kennebunkport 2025 Benefit Concert -- August 17, 5:00 to 6:15pm

St. Ann’s By The Sea in Kennebunkport, ME will be hosting an exciting concert 'Magnificent Mozart' in the oceanfront Stone Chapel. Directed by Ian Watson, the performance will feature world-class musicians playing authentic period instruments. The public is invited to hear this memorable performance in a spectacular setting. Proceeds will benefit the St. Ann’s Church preservation fund.

Performed on period violins, violas, cello, bass and fortepiano:
- Divertimento for strings in F major, K138 by Wolfgang Mozart
- Piano Concerto no. 12 in A, K414 by Wolfgang Mozart
- Divertimento for strings in D, K136 by Wolfgang Mozart

GRAMMY®-nominated Neave Trio—violinist Anna Williams, cellist Mikhail Veselov, and pianist Eri Nakamura—has captivated audiences worldwide with its dynamic and radiant performances. Their 2022 album Musical Remembrances was nominated for a GRAMMY in the Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble category and features works by Rachmaninoff, Brahms, and Ravel.

Praised by WQXR for their “bright and radiant” artistry, Neave has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival, and esteemed venues worldwide. Their latest album, Rooted (2024), explores folk influences in works by Coleridge-Taylor, Smetana, Suk, and Martin.

Winners of the 2024 Avery Fisher Career Grant and the Cleveland Quartet Award, the Balourdet String Quartet is known for its fearless creativity and tight-knit musical chemistry. Currently the Graduate Quartet in Residence at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, the ensemble has performed at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, and alongside world-renowned composers.

With more than 70 concerts per season, the Balourdet String Quartet pushes the boundaries of the string quartet repertoire, premiering works by leading contemporary composers while staying deeply connected to classical tradition.

An internationally acclaimed ensemble, the Terra String Quartet has won top prizes at the Melbourne and Osaka International Chamber Music Competitions and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Formed by graduates of Juilliard, NEC, Harvard, and Curtis, the quartet is praised for its “remarkable maturity and musicality” (Hyde Park Herald).

Currently the 2024-26 Ensemble-in-Residence at Yale School of Music, Terra String Quartet balances passion and precision, bringing fresh energy to the classics while championing new compositions.

Yi Qun Xu, winner of the New York International Artists Cello Competition, has been praised for her “masterful technique” and “rich tone” (The Day). A sought-after soloist and chamber musician, she has performed at Lincoln Center, Marlboro Music Festival, and internationally.

Jessica Xylina Osborne, a pianist of exceptional versatility, has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and alongside stars like Hilary Hahn and Ani Kavafian. With a passion for social justice in programming, she highlights historically marginalized composers while celebrating classical masterpieces.
