Fellow Inmates: Facebook Killing Suspect Confessed to Crime

BANGOR, Maine - Fellow inmates of a Maine man accused of luring a 15-year-old girl to her death via Facebook say the man confessed to the killing behind bars.

Twenty-one-year-old Kyle Dube, of Orono, is on trial for the 2013 kidnapping and murder of high school sophomore Nichole Cable, of Glenburn. Police had said Dube intended to stage a kidnapping of Nichole so he could find her and look like a hero. She died of asphyxiation.

WABI-TV reports that some of the inmates who were in jail with Dube testified Wednesday. David Tenney says Dube told him Nichole "needed to be killed.'' Another, Kyle Ellis, says Dube told him, "I choked a girl'' and "tried to make it look like I was helping her.''

Prosecutors say the trial could end Thursday.
