Woman Convicted of Random Saco Supermarket Killing Gets Life in Prison

ALFRED, Maine — A Maine woman who pleaded guilty to fatally slashing a woman in a random attack in a supermarket is going to spend the rest of her life in prison.

A judge imposed the sentence Monday on Connor MacCalister, who pleaded guilty to killing 59-year-old Wendy Boudreau at a Shaw's supermarket in Saco last summer.

MacCalister told police she was angry with life and had gone to the store to kill "several random people." Court records also state that she sated she was "off (her) meds."

MacCalister is a transgender man formerly known as Tanisha Hopkins. She asked to be referred to as a woman during her most recent court appearance.
