Man ID'ed in Augusta Homicide, Cause of Death Not Released

AUGUSTA, Maine - Police say they have identified a man who was found dead inside an Augusta apartment and is being called a homicide victim.

Police said 31-year-old Joseph Marceau of Augusta was found inside the apartment Monday. An autopsy was done, but a cause of death has not been released.

Police have arrested Damik Davis, who is being held at Kennebec County Jail.

Augusta police responded to the apartment for a disturbance call at 8 p.m. on Monday. Davis was taken into custody after a search. It is unclear if he has a lawyer.

Police say they are still looking for two occupants of the apartment for questioning and a well-being check.
