BRUNSWICK, Maine - Students at Bowdoin are on day two of a sit-in to urge the college to divest from fossil fuels.
Students from the group Bowdoin Climate Action have occupied the president's office since Wednesday morning.
Junior Allyson Gross, an organizer of the sit-in, says higher education institutions have a duty to lead in important issues. "Divestment works and it wins, and we have the ability to vote with our dollar."
School officials say that President Barry Mills's position is clear: The school will not divest, and should instead focus on education and other actions to confront climate change.
