WATERVILLE, Maine - The superintendent who oversees Waterville Senior High School is recommending that principal Don Reiter be dismissed.
Reiter has been on paid leave since the beginning of September after school officials received a complaint. Reiter's attorney Gregg Frame says he can't discuss the nature of the complaint, but it will come out in a dismissal hearing, which Reiter has requested to be an open session.
"Don wants the allegations to be made public, wants the support for the allegations to be made public, wants his rebuttal to the allegations to be made public," Frame says, "because he has nothing to hide in this regard."
The dismissal hearing is scheduled for Nov. 10. District Attorney Maeghan Maloney is also evaluating the case but has yet to make a decision on whether to file criminal charges.
