Fishing Vessel Salvaged, Minimal Seepage

STONINGTON, Maine_ Officials with the U.S. Coast Guard say that a sunken fishing vessel was successfully salvaged on Saturday.
The 42-foot Marley Gabriella sank in about 70 feet of water Friday at its mooring ball in Stonington.

Lt. David Bourbeau with the Coast Guard said Saturday afternoon that the vessel, which was carrying 700 pounds of diesel fuel,  was re-floated, and absorbent boom deployed. Some diesel had seeped from the vessel's vents and coated the water, but Bourbeau says any significant pollution was prevented.

The ship is now dry docked and an investigation into what caused it to sink will be launched.
