WATERVILLE, Maine - Princeton University History Professor Emerita Nell Painter believes that to truly understand the black experience in America, whites must first understand their own history. That's why she wrote "The History of White People" in 2010. Painter spoke with MPBN’s Irwin Gratz ahead of a speaking appearance Monday at Colby College.
Nell Painter will deliver a lecture titled “The History of White People: A Conversation about Race Relations” at Colby College in Waterville on Monday, Jan. 18. The lecture will take place at 3 p.m. at the Ostrove Auditorium in the Diamond Building.
