Angus King, Jeanne Shaheen to Talk About $600 Million Proposal to Fight Heroin
YORK, Maine — U.S. Sens. Angus King and Jeanne Shaheen are going to talk about her proposal to provide a funding boost to help stop the heroin epidemic.
The two plan to discuss the proposal Friday during a press conference at York Hospital.
King says he supports Shaheen’s proposal for $600 million in emergency funding to address an opioid and heroin abuse crisis that she says is spiraling out of control.
York Hospital operates an intensive outpatient treatment program, known as the Cottage Program, for adults and adolescents with drug addictions.
