'Yo Miss' creator Judith Sloan.

Judith Sloan believes that audio is under-appreciated as a medium of artistic expression. The New York and Maine based radio producer, audio artist, actor and educator brings her her multi-media stage show, "Yo Miss," to Portland, Belfast and Blue Hill this month. Sloan describes the show as a story within a story within a story, all about her experiences working with refugee and immigrant kids who are finding their way in Queens.

Judith Sloan will perform "Yo Miss" Thursday, August 13, at 7:30 p.m., at Space Gallery in Portland; Friday and Saturday, August 14 and 15, and Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 20, 21, and 22, at 7 p.m. at the Playhouse Theater in Belfast; and August 27, at 7 p.m. at the New Surry Theatre Space in Blue Hill.
