FairPoint CEO Responds to New Hampshire Delegation

CONCORD, N.H. - The CEO of Fairpoint Communications says some members of New Hampshire's Congressional delegation have an inaccurate impression that that the company is being uncooperative in dealing with a worker strike.

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and Rep. Annie Kuster sent a letter Monday to Fairpoint CEO Paul Sunu encouraging his management team to negotiate a reasonable compromise with the more than 1,700 workers across Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire.

In a response Tuesday, Sunu says that the unions are not seriously considering the company's proposals and have failed to offer counterproposals.

As for complaints about service outages, Sunu said current workers are showing productivity well above pre-strike levels despite being hampered by picketing and bad weather.
