We are excited to announce that Micmac Farms will be hosting a Winter Market! The market will be bi-weekly on Saturdays, throughout December, doors open at 9:00am and close at 1:00pm. There will be a blend of vendors at each market, from home knitters, to Maine made teas, all the way to some amazing eco friendly self-care items.

Ayana Green, the Marketing Manager for Micmac Farms housed under the Mi’kmaq Nation states, “these markets are a great way for the community to come together, we here at Micmac Farms strive for the community to come first and foremost. From getting our goods out the door as fresh as possible and into the hands of those who need it most, to being sure that other small businesses in The County feel supported. We’re hoping that everyone feels a sense of community walking through the doors this season.”

Micmac Farms will host vendors from across The County at these events like Great North Woods Teas and Herbs, Drake’s Hometown Honey, Crafty Gram Studios, and The Hill Gardens to name a few. There will be live music from locals who love to strum and sing and hot lunches served by Micmac Farms throughout the day. We welcome new vendors to sign up for each event, but spots are limited, so be sure to contact Ayana Green at agreen@micmac-nsn.gov quickly. Event dates are as follows:

ABOUT MICMAC FARMS: Micmac Farms is a small tribally owned farm located along Route 1 in Caribou. We are not only a mixed vegetable garden market, but we house approximately 48,000 Maine Brook Trout in our on-site hatchery. Through partnerships with Good Shepherd Food Bank this year alone we were able to donate approximately 11,000lbs of produce to local food pantries, programs, and community members. We are sure to envelope our vision statement with everything we do and that is to provide a source of sustainably-produced wholesome foods for Northern Maine communities while supporting meaningful local employment opportunities.
