Introduction to Cyanotypes

Cyanotype is one of the very first photographic printing techniques, producing beautiful blue images.

In this introductory class you’ll learn all the basics of this amazing alternative photographic technique.  We’ll make prints using the Classic formula as well as the “New” formula. You’ll learn about the chemicals and how to mix the preparations, the various papers to use, and the processing method to produce and the stabilize the print.    You’ll have some gorgeous blue prints and the know-how to create more at home!

About the Instructor:

Dale Joyce is a fine art print maker and commercial photographer residing in Maine.   Dale chose to move there permanently, to pursue his passion full time in his studio and gallery on Swan's Island, Harbor View Studio. He also operates a commercial photography studio, Down East Photography, in downtown Ellsworth.
