Kennebec Performing Arts Company presents “A Celebration of Spring”
Kennebec Performing Arts Company presents “A Celebration of Spring” featuring the KPAC Choir & Wind Ensemble conducted by John Neal and the Jazz Band under interim conductor Dan Gilbert. Enjoy an evening of music selections spanning over 200 years performed by KPAC’s talented community members. The choir repertoire features works by Vivaldi, Gershwin, Grammy winning composer Christopher Tin, and Swingin’ with the Saints, a collaboration with the KPAC Jazz Band. The jazz band will also perform music of Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, John Coltrane, as well as rock and funk tunes. The wind ensemble will present works ranging from the era of Richard Strauss and Sousa to recent compositions, including music from Dr. Who, Hamilton and How to Train Your Dragon. This free event is supported in part by a grant from the Onion Foundation. Donations are gratefully accepted.
