Rockport Garden Club Speaker June 5th, 2025: Establishing a Wildflower Meadow

Rockport Garden Club Speaker June 5th, 2025: Establishing a Wildflower Meadow

The Rockport Garden Club will hold its June monthly meeting on Thursday, June 5th, 2025 with Cindy Wright as the guest speaker, starting promptly at 1 p.m. The program will highlight “Establishing a Wildflower Meadow or Garden Patch with Wildflower Seeds.”

Establishing a Wildflower Meadow can be a rewarding project that benefits both you and the environment. This talk will present a step-by-step guide to help you get started in our midcoast area, some pros and cons to consider, along with some reasons why it's a great idea, even if you're just "meadow-curious" at this point in time. Links to reference materials will be provided to attendees.
She will talk about specific recommendations that will enhance any landscape objectives. Creating a wildflower meadow is a wonderful way to connect with nature and contribute to environmental conservation. Plus, you’ll enjoy the beauty and tranquility of a vibrant, blooming landscape.
Cindy Wright is the Program Development Specialist for the Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District. She is a lifelong learner and a lifelong fan of food. Cindy decided to go back to school, this time to learn about Sustainable Agriculture. While she was completing that certification, she learned about the MBA in Sustainability offered by Unity College. Since she and her husband already loved Maine, and in particular, wearing costumes during toboggan races, a move to the Midcoast a few years ago made perfect sense. You might meet them ( and often their dog, Elliott) hiking on a trail, or listening to a concert, eating something delicious, or enjoying movies.
The meeting will be held at the West Rockport Baptist Church at 545 Park Street, West Rockport. The entrance is from the parking lot at the end of the building. The public is cordially invited. The building is handicap accessible. Out of courtesy, please do not call the church for information.
