The Big 'Pause: A morning of empowerment through movement and knowledge for women of all ages

The Big 'Pause: A morning of empowerment through movement and knowledge for women of all ages

Spark Cycling and Union + Co are thrilled to announce, “The Big ‘Pause: a morning of empowerment through movement and knowledge for women of all ages”

For women of a certain age, perimenopause and menopause are top of mind and recently seem to have hit the zeitgeist more than ever before. To try to tackle a lack of information, we create a workshop that combines:

➡️ Intentional movement in the form of a 45 minute mat-based barre class with Anne Daniel, Uprise Hot Yoga
➡️ A panel of local experts who will demystify perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopausal life lead by Morgan Miller, owner of Soft Corner Midwifery, and Dr. Jenn Gelfand, owner of Root to Rise Physical Therapy
➡️ Mindfulness with a 15 minute guided meditation with David Daniel, owner of Be Here Now
➡️ A 45 minute gentle flow yoga class held by a member of the Ebb & Flow team
➡️ Coffee, tea, and light bites courtesy of Elyse Dana, owner of Iris Eats Maine

It cannot be stressed enough that everyone is welcome. Never taken a barre class before? There will be modifications. Perimenopause a foreign word to you, or already living that post-menopausal life? You will most certainly learn something either way. Not a woman? Great! Come learn how changes in the female body and hormonal changes affect us as we age. Not into meditation? It’s 15 minutes and might just change your mind. And who can’t use a gentle flow class? And literally no one will say no to Elyse’s food (celiac-safe gluten free food, and dairy free options will be available).

Our goal is to foster connection in a shared experience that often feels lonely, anxiety-ridden, and sometimes painful, both emotionally and physically. We hope that by bringing together leaders in our community will help spread knowledge and empower everyone who joins.
