Maine artist Russ Cox presents new works that pull you in close, and then pull you even deeper.
Cox’s oil paintings evoke the sensory feeling associated with place, nature and experience. Works evolve from a process of applying layer upon layer with multiple glazes to create movement, translucency and depth. These works are deeply meditative, becoming more complex as they unfold.
Join us as we celebrate Russ Cox’s new works and step deeper into his visionary world.
A full catalog of works available. We are happy to arrange private showings and studio tours. All are welcome.

CELEBRATING THE ARTISTRY AND HERITAGE OF JEN AND ELIZABETH CASAD: A MOTHER-DAUGHTER JOURNEY THROUGH MAINE'S SEASCAPE AND WORKING WATERFRONTRockland, ME – Badhus Co, a creative convener in Downtown Rockland, is delighted to present a captivating art exhibition featuring the talent of a dynamic mother and daughter duo, Jen and Elizabeth Casad.Jen Casad, a commercial fisherman and renowned artist, brings the rich history and current reality of Maine to life through her realistic drawings. Her work, including the iconic portrayal of a clam digger in Sharon Lockhart’s film "Double Tide" (2009), reflects a deep connection to Maine's fishing industry. As a first-generation Mainer with a lineage of fishermen and artists, Casad's drawings beautifully capture the nostalgic essence of the past, the challenges of seasonal income, landscapes, and the hardworking people. Notably, her work is showcased at the Alexandre Gallery in New York, specializing in contemporary American artists and early 20th-century American artists, with a focus on the Stieglitz Group. She received a BA in Art from the University of Maine.Elizabeth Sylvia Casad, at just 11 years old, is already making waves in the art world. Living on a small farm on the coast of Maine, Elizabeth, daughter of Jen Casad, draws inspiration from the strength of women in connection to animals and nature. Homeschooled and with a passion for voice and pottery, Elizabeth's paintings and drawings beautifully portray the powerful bond between women and the natural world.Jen Casad shared her thoughts on her art and life, saying, “Drawing has that same type of rhythmic meditative flow as does the physical work of clamming. It is someplace I can be where the rest of the world tunnels out and time seems to disappear. The largest and best part of my life is being a mother to my beautiful, fun, exciting, and loving daughter.”Elizabeth Sylvia Casad expressed her love for farm life, saying, “I have always made art probably because of my mother. She is an artist and the best mom in the whole wide world. I like to sing also. I absolutely love to sing.”For media inquiries, please contact Badhus Co. at 25 Oak Street, Rockland, ME.
