AUGUSTA, Maine - An Augusta man caught selling cocaine while he was on probation for the same offense has been sentenced to six years in prison.
A judge on Monday ordered 41-year-old Roberson Antoine to serve the entire sentence, with none of it suspended, because of his poor track record in complying with terms of probation. He pleaded guilty in February to aggravated trafficking charges.
Authorities say Antoine was convicted in 2012 of cocaine trafficking and was sentenced to serve nine months behind bars. He was placed on probation for three years and was convicted of violating probation twice prior to his arrest on the new charges last September.
The Kennebec Journalreports that Antoine told the judge he is looking forward to rehabilitation and educational programs in prison.
