Aroostook County Couple Arrested After Meth Lab Discovered

BANGOR, Maine - An Aroostook County couple have been arrested for the second time in less than a year on charges related to the making of methamphetamine.

"This latest lab was discovered when MDEA agents went to this cabin to check on the bail conditions of a young man who was arrested last year for making methamphetamine," says Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland.

McCausland says the cabin in Ludlow contained components to make a new batch of meth. "Also inside was the young man, his girlfriend and her mother."

McCauslsnd says all three have been charged. It's the 12th meth bust this year, which McCausland says likely puts the state on track to match or exceed last year's 56 incidents.
