Will Surks, of Westfield, N.J., a freshman at Bowdoin College, has his temperature checked as a safety measure to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus at the Town Mall, Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020, in Brunswick, Maine.

The Maine CDC is reporting 90 new cases of COVID-19 in the state.

No new deaths were reported Sunday, after two came on Saturday. They were in a man in his 70s and a woman in her 80s, both from Somerset County.

Sunday's case increase was the smallest in six days, and comes after a five-day stretch averaging 161 daily cases.

In all, 7,693 Mainers have been diagnosed with the disease — of those, 5,935 have recovered, leaving 1,606 active cases.
