(Portland/Bangor/Lewiston) — Maine Public announces a special free screening of the Season Two Premiere Episode of the PBS historical drama Mercy Street at The Frontier in Brunswick on Tuesday, January 3 at 7:00 pm. On hand will be the program's Co-Creator and Executive Producer Lisa Quijano Wolfinger who will welcome attendees and answer questions after the screening. Tickets are free, but must be reserved in advance by going to mainepublic.org and signing up under the Events tab.

Inspired by real people and events, this PBS original series goes beyond the front lines of the Civil War and into the chaotic world of the Mansion House Hospital in Union-occupied Alexandria, Virginia. Mercy Street takes viewers beyond the battlefield and into the lives of Americans on the Civil War home front as they face the unprecedented challenges of one of the most turbulent times in our nation’s history.

Season Two of Mercy Street will start airing on Maine Public Television on Sunday, January 22 at 8:00 pm, with repeats on the following Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm. Prior to these airings, the entire first season of Mercy Street will be re-running on Maine Public Television Sunday afternoons from 2:00 — 4:00 pm starting on Sunday, January 8.
