PORTLAND, Maine — Authorities are searching for the missing captain of a Portland-based water taxi.
The Portland Press Herald reports the Coast Guard, Maine Marine Patrol and police are looking for the 24-foot boat, owned by Portland Express Water Taxi, that's been missing since Wednesday afternoon. Adam Patterson is the only person believed to have been on the boat.
Police Lt. Robert Ridge says the company's owner reported the boat and Patterson missing at 2 p.m. He says Patterson has been living on the boat.
Ridge says authorities are treating it as a missing person case. The Maine Marine Patrol is in charge of the search.
