AUGUSTA, Maine - Legislative leaders on both sides of the aisle were still attempting to connect the detailed costs within the actual budget document released by Gov. Paul LePage with some of big picture goals the governor laid out this afternoon.
Democrats were cautiously supportive of several budget elements, while Republicans seemed to have a slightly better handle on some of the details contained in the $6.3 billion, two-year, tax-and-spending plan. A.J. Higgins spoke briefly with Republican and Democratic leaders just before air time.
