AUGUSTA, Maine - The LePage administration has decided not to include keno among the draw games offered by the Maine State Lottery.
The Legislature is considering a bill that would block the administration from acting on its own to put as many as 300 terminals in 150 locations.
In a statement issued this afternoon, Gov. Paul LePage says that, while the executive branch is authorized to add a game to the Maine State Lottery without legislative approval, the state will not add keno this year.
The governor says that legislators could have avoided this debate by bringing their concerns to the administration.
