Conducting The People's Business in Private: Story Details Lawmakers' Closed-Door Meetings

AUGUSTA, Maine - Legislative leaders held more closed-door deliberations Thursday about the new state budget.  The only problem is, according to the The Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, the law doesn't really allow for that.

Editor-in-Chief John Christie says the Legislature itself wanted a more transparent process.
