World Pro Ski Tour To Offer More Events This Winter

NEWRY, Maine - The World Pro Ski Tour is expanding after its successful reintroduction last season.

Three events are scheduled this winter at Waterville Valley, New Hampshire; Sunday River, Maine; and a third location that's yet to be determined.

The events will be televised on CBS.

The World Pro Ski Tour served for decades as the only made-for-TV ski racing event with cash prizes and national sponsors. Ed Rogers created the style of competition in which skiers race against each other instead of individuals racing against the clock.

Last year, there was a single event at Sunday River, and it was successful enough to expand.

Rogers says the American ski community is craving "to see their idols go head to head in dual slalom.''
