FairPoint's Maine state President, Mike Reed, at the company's headquarters in Portland Wednesday.

This follows approval over the weekend of an agreement between management and the union workers dealing with pension contributions and health care costs.

Mike Reed is the company's Maine state president. "I'm very excited, I couldn't be more pleased to have everybody back," he says.

About 800 FairPoint workers went on strike in Maine, and Reed describes the transition back to the regular workforce as "pretty much seamless."

Reed says most of the contract workers who were hired to work through the strike are being laid off.
