Gas got a little less expensive in Maine this week - although it's still 40 cents more expensive than last year's average.Gas Buddy petroleum analyst Patrick DeHahn says gas prices typically fall somewhat at this time of year, and keep falling until the holidays.
But he says it's hard to predict what might happen. "With so many things on the radar, including the situation in Saudi Arabia, we'll have to keep an eye on that. But gas prices usually do continue to decline at this time of year."
Prices in Maine have fallen 3.1 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.83 per gallon.
Gas Buddy's survey found the highest prices in Maine at a station in Rockwood off Moosehead Lake, in Cumberland, and in Caribou. The cheapest gas can be found in Brewer and Newport, in Penobscot County.
