99th Pageant of the Nativity and Vespers Service
99th Pageant of the Nativity and Vespers Service
Time is stilled in our candlelit Meeting House as we experience the innocence of a silent night to impart a story of hope and tidings of goodwill toward all. The Nativity story is expressed through anthems, carols, organ music, and readings while the cast creates a still tableau around the pulpit. Some of the costumes have been created from fabrics brought back from the Holy Lands by nieces of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow; the apostles’ hats were fashioned in the 1920s by the ladies in the parish. Join us for the 99th anniversary of our Christmas celebration! FMI: Laurie Hasty (pageant@firstparishportland.org).
