Farm & Homestead Day

Farm & Homestead Day
Farm & Homestead Day at MOFGA is a free event featuring participatory workshops centered on sustainable living skills. This event regularly features 50+ workshops and activities appropriate for individuals of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds.
Since beginning in 2012, this event has been produced by volunteers who delight in sharing their skills for rural and sustainable living.
At 9 am, the day begins with tea and crumpets. Throughout the day, individuals have countless opportunities to join workshops ranging from woodworking and blacksmithing, to composting and tree identification, to treadle sewing and spinning wool. A "stone soup" and potluck lunch is served midday, and there are plenty of opportunities to learn cooking skills. Plus, a variety of musical offerings has everyone dancing and singing to round out the day.
